When you fly on an airplane, instructions exist regarding what to do in an emergency.

The first instruction you typically read is: Put on YOUR OWN oxygen mask first!

That is, help yourself first. 

Why? 

Because you cannot help others, at least not for long, if you yourself are without oxygen.

An expression analogous to the airplane instruction, that you'll often here bandied about is: "Get your own house in order first".

As we grow and mature sweetheart, we become responsible for others. Initially though, we must learn to become responsible for ourselves.

What made me think about this today???

Your beautiful little hands. 

Yes, your hands.

They reminded me of the idea of: "lending a helping hand".

Given that help can be manifested in numerous ways, and given that different skills can be invoked to lend a helping hand, it seemed apt to capture a few of the varied moves that you made.

There is an old expression that goes something like "To a person with only a hammer in his toolbox, every problem looks like a nail". 

Grow to have a multifaceted toolbox darling.

Try to be someone who always adds to their knowledge, and to their skill set; both regarding the outer world, and the inner world.

Relationships with others, depend on your ability to recognize aspects of the inner worlds of others. 

Results in our lives depend on our ability to properly comprehend the outer world, and to properly manage relationships; 

starting with the relationship with ourselves.
