21 October 2022 - Father's Day (inaugural for Belarus) - Ali's Dad bbq

It's amazing how poetry works.

Getting to revisit fatherhood has been a stand alone stanza, since 18 August 2022.

Being in Belarus for the inaugural Father's Day celebration today, gave birth to a second stanza.


Could this be a step in the direction of the recognition of kids need for both parents as active participants in their lives?


I recently mentioned an interview that was taken with me a couple of days back. It was linked to today's milestone. A milestone for fathers in Belarus, and for the kids who wish to celebrate their dearest dads.

As to actual celebrating today, I have a friend who's father flew in 3 days ago. We made his fly in the focus: especially in light of his status as the eldest amongst us.



Ali's father is a barbecue black belt.

 


The old school style reaped it rewards.


A table full of joy.


Mum finally got to sit down; but it wasn't long before you called her back.


Guess who was calling out to her?


Dessert.

Enjoyed.


To continue enjoying, it has to be re-earned: daily.

Awake. Already a ray of sunshine. Yet, could still do with a little more rest. I returned home near to lunch time, And encountered this scene. Mum's planned-for dessert... which had been left on the table with a cup of coffee... wasn't going to make it. Fate had it that... Your brother cried out for a feed... and She ably responded... and You executed on your plan ☺ Post meal, pure joy. There was also joy, when you stepped out and checked out your new contraption. Before hopping over to the raspberry garden. Early evening, the water melon left on the table was not left untouched. Yes, a theme is forming here... Ditto, the dinner time sushi. The chopsticks were used unorthodoxly, As the fish bits were harpooned. Then a return to civility. "What" you asked? What incivility? There is more than one way to do things in life. 18 August 2024 - Two years on earth

Your Birthday morning, kicked off on the right note! Birthday dancing. Your musician Grandad, serenading you on your birthday.. Some of the delights enjoyed, thanks for the most part to Mum's efforts! Thanks to our family friend Abu Ali, Lebanese cuisine adorned the table! Beauty-full! A few at the table. Your maternal Uncle assisted as you tried on your doctor's outfit. I was in trouble... The last shot taken, before I was left wet and laughing. Balloons! Having a blast! Beauty and your Bro. The Grandma baked cake! Us. Those who shared the moments in-person. Mum & I bring out your cake. Time to blow out the candles!! Thank you to you and your siblings. 21 October 2024 - Father's Day in Belarus

A dream gift, Was the actual gift. Thanks to your Mum for honouring my love of family, and my love of art. She is a Jewel. Most fundamental, when thinking of gifts, it's with enormous gratitude that I can report that:  good health permeates our home. Beauty is blooming too. Morning time today, you helped prepare breakfast. Highlights included cracking the eggs, and whisking together the omelette ingredients. We later enjoyed the fresh outdoors. My coat came in handy: for you! What a bonus it was to have your grandparents come and join today. Grandad. Grandma. Celebrating with sushi! And with more family guests. Your grandmother's mother, and her sister & hubbie (& the youngest of their three kids). And more sushi. Did I mention sushi? ❤❤❤ PS: a letter-note-message was added, sealed & delivered with the Father's Day gift PS 2: looking back, at a memory; and looking forward, with hope. ❤❤❤
