19 January 2023 - Moment to moment: Emotion to emotion

Some things words don't capture.

Some things pictures try to.


What is a moment?


A transitory event.

One just happened.

And again.

Another.. & another.. & another..


Fleeting by. Over and over.


There is a remarkable irony in the concept of a 'moment'.


Certain moments, leave an indelible imprint.

They leave a mark, that lasts long after the 'moment' is gone.

You and your sister have a knack for creating such moments.


The joy..


The search for certainty..


The finding of comfort..


The knowing..


The zoning out..


These moments on your bouncer were enjoyed whilst Mum & I's breakfast was being served up.

Some time later, you enjoyed brightness on the playmat..


Finding the mirror..


Stuck in the mirror with you..



You fell asleep on my shoulder today. 

That was a moment,
that was not just a moment.


There is song titled "I don't want to miss a thing".

I was taken to it today.

I am taken to it when I think of both you and your sister.


I wish you both moments in life that stay with you as sources of positive energy.

I wish you both moments that you inspire you to look forward.

I wish you both many moments, in the years ahead, that will surpass even your grandest hopes.


It'll be wonderful if we get to share a bunch of them.

Awake. Already a ray of sunshine. Yet, could still do with a little more rest. I returned home near to lunch time, And encountered this scene. Mum's planned-for dessert... which had been left on the table with a cup of coffee... wasn't going to make it. Fate had it that... Your brother cried out for a feed... and She ably responded... and You executed on your plan ☺ Post meal, pure joy. There was also joy, when you stepped out and checked out your new contraption. Before hopping over to the raspberry garden. Early evening, the water melon left on the table was not left untouched. Yes, a theme is forming here... Ditto, the dinner time sushi. The chopsticks were used unorthodoxly, As the fish bits were harpooned. Then a return to civility. "What" you asked? What incivility? There is more than one way to do things in life. And, of course, you were right. ❤❤❤

Your Birthday morning, kicked off on the right note! Birthday dancing. Your musician Grandad, serenading you on your birthday.. Some of the delights enjoyed, thanks for the most part to Mum's efforts! Thanks to our family friend Abu Ali, Lebanese cuisine adorned the table! Beauty-full! A few at the table. Your maternal Uncle assisted as you tried on your doctor's outfit. I was in trouble... The last shot taken, before I was left wet and laughing. Balloons! Having a blast! Beauty and your Bro. The Grandma baked cake! Us. Those who shared the moments in-person. Mum & I bring out your cake. Time to blow out the candles!! Thank you to you and your siblings. You are profoundly important and inspiring. Looking forward to seeing you evolve into the You of your choice. ❤❤❤

A dream gift, Was the actual gift. Thanks to your Mum for honouring my love of family, and my love of art. She is a Jewel. Most fundamental, when thinking of gifts, it's with enormous gratitude that I can report that:  good health permeates our home. Beauty is blooming too. Morning time today, you helped prepare breakfast. Highlights included cracking the eggs, and whisking together the omelette ingredients. We later enjoyed the fresh outdoors. My coat came in handy: for you! What a bonus it was to have your grandparents come and join today. Grandad. Grandma. Celebrating with sushi! And with more family guests. Your grandmother's mother, and her sister & hubbie (& the youngest of their three kids). And more sushi. Did I mention sushi? ❤❤❤ PS: a letter-note-message was added, sealed & delivered with the Father's Day gift PS 2: looking back, at a memory; and looking forward, with hope. ❤❤❤
