17 June 2023 - Anchoring. Gathering
There is a monthly call I have with a group of friends,
that begins with an icebreaker.
"What is your anchor?" was today's icebreaker question.
The reflections included ..using coffee as an anchor, and attaching any intended new habits to the moment the coffee cup is raised ..the model of 'Calm. Focus. Act.' ..the question 'Who so I want to be right now' combined with 'live in the moment' ..the note that anchoring can be to remain still, or to pivot ..
Mine was of course: Starting with gratitude (for all that we have). Reflecting on what we do have, and not on what is missing? Asking myself 'Where am I going'? Asking myself 'What can I do'? Taking action that can be taken.
(Jasmin. A divine aroma first thing in the morning. Freshly picked)
You had one of your great grandmother's, one of mum's aunts, and one of mum's cousins over for lunch today.
You enjoyed the tea and dessert part outdoors;
immunized against the rain.
The fun part in your behavior came at dinner today.
Specifically, you used your bib at dinner time as a storage space.
Items that you'd had enough of, but like, you didn't through off to the side.
Rather, you carefully placed items in your bib; it was a classic.
May you and your sister learn to be discerning in your ways.
May you both elicit what you have genuine inclinations towards and for;
and then may you develop accordingly.
As Carl Jung said sweethearts: "The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are".
