22 September 2023 - Watermelons

As you know, I am the eldest child amongst my siblings.

Growing up with your grandparents, uncles and aunts, I was involved with the running of fruit & vegetable stores: the family business.

Knowing how to recognize "good" fruit and vegetables was a skill that was acquired.


A trick or the trade with watermelons was tapping them & listening for a particular depth of sound.

What a blast it was today to see you tapping on them!

I guess you've been observing!



The store at which we bought to the melon is a regular spot for us.

You have become a morning favourite amongst employees there.

It is amazingly special to see the incredibly positive energy and joy that you evoke in some of them.


 

I hope that you and your sister continue to carry an energy that brings out the best in others.

I hope that you both tune in to yourselves, understand yourselves, and bring out your best too.

Here for you both, cheering you on always!

Awake. Already a ray of sunshine. Yet, could still do with a little more rest. I returned home near to lunch time, And encountered this scene. Mum's planned-for dessert... which had been left on the table with a cup of coffee... wasn't going to make it. Fate had it that... Your brother cried out for a feed... and She ably responded... and You executed on your plan ☺ Post meal, pure joy. There was also joy, when you stepped out and checked out your new contraption. Before hopping over to the raspberry garden. Early evening, the water melon left on the table was not left untouched. Yes, a theme is forming here... Ditto, the dinner time sushi. The chopsticks were used unorthodoxly, As the fish bits were harpooned. Then a return to civility. "What" you asked? What incivility? There is more than one way to do things in life. And, of course, you were right. ❤❤❤

Your Birthday morning, kicked off on the right note! Birthday dancing. Your musician Grandad, serenading you on your birthday.. Some of the delights enjoyed, thanks for the most part to Mum's efforts! Thanks to our family friend Abu Ali, Lebanese cuisine adorned the table! Beauty-full! A few at the table. Your maternal Uncle assisted as you tried on your doctor's outfit. I was in trouble... The last shot taken, before I was left wet and laughing. Balloons! Having a blast! Beauty and your Bro. The Grandma baked cake! Us. Those who shared the moments in-person. Mum & I bring out your cake. Time to blow out the candles!! Thank you to you and your siblings. You are profoundly important and inspiring. Looking forward to seeing you evolve into the You of your choice. ❤❤❤

21 October 2024 - Father's Day in Belarus

A dream gift, Was the actual gift. Thanks to your Mum for honouring my love of family, and my love of art. She is a Jewel. Most fundamental, when thinking of gifts, it's with enormous gratitude that I can report that:  good health permeates our home. Beauty is blooming too. Morning time today, you helped prepare breakfast. Highlights included cracking the eggs, and whisking together the omelette ingredients. We later enjoyed the fresh outdoors. My coat came in handy: for you! What a bonus it was to have your grandparents come and join today. Grandad. Grandma. Celebrating with sushi! And with more family guests. Your grandmother's mother, and her sister & hubbie (& the youngest of their three kids). And more sushi. Did I mention sushi? ❤❤❤ PS: a letter-note-message was added, sealed & delivered with the Father's Day gift PS 2: looking back, at a memory; and looking forward, with hope. ❤❤❤
