Mum had to pop out first thing in the morning. Granny was here. A bonus for you both. The interest in all things music continues. The creation of comfie little zones of your owns continues too! 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad

27 February 2025 - Gran comes around

Image
Granny came around and added to the positive morning energy! Devouring the spinach pancakes. Waking up from the late afternoon nap; using an episode of Bluey, as the tool of choice. AK and Mum sought to grap your attention. Shining at dinner time. 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad

26 February 2025 - As we return to above 5°C..

Preparing to exit for a midday walk with Mum. Bring the bird seeds? Mummy's boy.. And this time, at the camera.. Enjoying above 5°C moments. Thanks to the snow beginning to melt.. 💖💖💖

25 February 2025 - Levitating on a family throne

Image
When carrying something (in this case, a someone) makes you feel even lighter! Seated on Mum first thing in the morn, AK looks as though he's found a throne. 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad

24 February 2025 - Sweet 16 for Dunia!

Image
It's 16 years today, since a bright & beautiful young lady was born. Happy Birthday Dunia 🎂  I am proud of you & your agility, and of your care & creativity. May the years ahead be magical! May aspirations be actualized! (Being in Russian, what happened in the video?? Mira sang the 'Happy Birthday' song. She then said 'We Love You'. She then informed Dunia that it's her sister Mira speaking) ... The 10 month mark of life was reached by Adam Karim today. The milestones keep coming. And every one of them makes life more desirable. Sharing toys. Sharing life. Sharing books. Sharing life. I look forward to the time when all three siblings get to share life.  💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad

23 February 2025 - Sunday (Abu Rumzy buried today)

Image
The gaze. Post a bonus set of moments. Today was a national holiday acknowledging the role played by men in defending the nation and it's constituents (mainly mothers and kids). Upon hearing this, you started singing Happy Birthday to me (& Mum joined in). AK resting a little later. Enjoying a feed of his own later, Adam Karim's foot stance was something else. 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad PS: Two days ago, I mentioned the loss of Abu Mazen. Yesterday, another father of childhood friends passed. This time Abu Rumzy. Ailing for years now, Abu Rumzy's body could finally take no more. Fortunately, he had all but one of his kids by side at his time of passing. Fortunately for all involved. His cheeky grin, his cleverness, and his love of cleverness in younger generations will always be remembered. He got to see his grandkids; and to enjoy years interacting with them. RIP Abu Rumzy. Every day is a gift. And a priceless one at that.

22 February 2025 - Library Day

Image
Glowing morning! Two profound reasons to strive to extend both lifespan and health-span. Ditto their, missing from here, sister. Glowing indoors. One cool cat. (Funnily, you actually said to me "Daddy. You fo it too!"... Referring to the hands in pocket gig) Entering the Library! Very tired... but irrepressible in your commitment to savouring your pistachio ice-cream. Some snow-play with a neighbour, Katia. A message in the eyes, that was left unaddressed. Let me out of the play-room! I want to play elsewhere! Ok. If you let me interact with the art, I will stay! 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad

21 February 2025 - RIP Abu Mazen

Image
It's remarkable what impacts us, and what implants itself in our memories. My parents (your paternal grandparents) and my siblings (your paternal uncles and aunts) used to go to the Batieyeh home on a semi regular basis during my childhood. The loss of Abu Mazen Batieyeh recently triggered recollections and moments of insight, from those early times and visits. The first revelation at the Batieyeh home was seeing a man cook. The second was seeing a man help with washing dishes. The third was the wide eyed curiosity and care, with which Abu Mazen would look at us kids. He would seek understanding; and then he would do what he could, to make our life more pleasant in that moment. The kind, gentle, caring family man Abu Mazen left the would of the living days ago. ... ... ... You both had the chance of connecting with his eldest son (& himself a father of six kids) today: Mazen. You both evoked a smile in Mazen. Just as would have ensued with his Dad. The kind nature continues. Hi...

20 February 2025 - Healthy play

Image
Morning play. Morning health kick. (Thanks to Ulyana) At your breakfast table. There was an unintentional spillage of your melted watermelon/lemon sorbet. Your quickly looked up at me and said "Volcano". Good timing to have done an experiment this morning with sparkling water and a lid popping off (...& Which I had equated with a volcano). Reach. Grab. Bite. The new rhythm. Smiling. Here you danced a little; in front of a picture of your paternal grandparent's wedding day. Evening play. (Preparing for Australia?) Evening health kick. (Thanks to Ulyana) 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad

19 February 2025 - Pick-a-boo!

Image
Handsome little fella. Gorgeous little gal. More pleasure watching than eating. I was called from the next room, to "find you all" "Pick-a-boo!" 💖💖💖 Omran Matar  Dad
